Our Quality Standards
What 'third-party tested' actually means
Any brand can say their supplements are tested. What matters is who tested them and what they tested for.
Third-party testing means an independent laboratory — not the manufacturer, not the brand — verified that what's on the label is what's in the capsule. Reputable certifiers include:
- NSF International — tests for label accuracy and contaminants
- USP (US Pharmacopeia) — verifies ingredient identity, potency, and purity
- Informed Sport / Informed Choice — common in sports nutrition, tests for banned substances
- IFOS (International Fish Oil Standards) — specific to omega-3 products, tests for oxidation and heavy metals
What a Certificate of Analysis shows
A CoA is a document issued by the testing lab for a specific batch. It shows the test results for that batch — not a historical average, not a batch from two years ago. We link to the current CoA for every product we carry.
cGMP certification
All of our supplier facilities are certified to FDA's Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) standard. cGMP governs facility cleanliness, equipment calibration, raw material testing, and documentation. It's the legal manufacturing floor for supplements in the US.
Our sourcing review
Before we add a product, we review the supplier's cGMP certification status, the testing lab's accreditation, and the batch CoA for the current inventory. We repeat this review when sourcing a new batch.
